At Santa Monica Sports Massage, our mission is to help people be the best they can be in their everyday activities. Whether you have a new injury, chronic pain, or are simply looking for massage to be a part of your routine, we can help.

Our Services

We offer a range of manual therapy techniques, including myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, IASTM (instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization), cupping, and PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation). We also use a 15W LightForce Laser Therapy unit in our sessions as needed. Our certified manual therapists work with individuals with a wide range of health backgrounds and varying activity levels.

Our Therapists

Our therapists, Michelle Mercier and Jake Wainscott, are certified by the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) and have extensive experience in manual therapy. Michelle has a Bachelor's of science degree in Community Health Education from California State University Long Beach. She is passionate about hiking, surfing, camping, and volunteering as an advocate for foster youth at CASA of Los Angeles. Jake has a background in postural correction via soft-tissue mobilization and has received training from a soft-tissue focused chiropractor.

Conditions We Treat

We treat a wide range of conditions, including frozen shoulder and rotator cuff injuries, tendonitis/tendonosis, hip injuries, thoracic outlet syndrome, piriformis syndrome and sciatica, plantar fasciitis, psoas tightness/weakness, and pre- or post-surgery acute and chronic issues.

What to Expect During Your First Visit

When you arrive, please bring a pair of athletic shorts and be prepared to discuss your health history and treatment goals with your therapist. Your therapist will step out of the room while you get on the massage table. After your session, we will discuss supplemental homework such as stretching or foam rolling techniques, and future treatment.

Patient Resources
