Because it's about more than massage, It's about life.
At North Texas School of Swedish Massage, we're more than just a massage school - we're a community dedicated to helping you achieve your goals and find balance in life.
Our Story
The North Texas School of Swedish Massage was founded in 1994 by Don Halsell, Marilyn Halsell, and their daughter Nilda Halsell-Tull. The family fell in love with massage therapy and wanted to provide others with the opportunity to enjoy life along with their career. Becoming a massage therapist allows a person to choose to have a positive impact and positive change every day. We believe in a healthy balance between Faith, family, and your career. A career in massage therapy can allow that-the opportunity to be successful without sacrificing everything else.
Our Goal
Our goal is to provide an educational opportunity for each student to meet the state of Texas' requirements for gaining the educational requirements to become a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Texas. We strive to provide an exceptional education at an affordable price. For this reason, we focus on quality over quantity; classes are kept small so that students gain the hands-on experience and attention from instructors that we believe is necessary for students to be successful.
What Sets Us Apart?
1. Affordable Programs: Our goal is to equip students to become the best therapist they can possibly be. We believe that by keeping costs low and streamlining our programs, our students and customers are provided a better service overall.
2. Success-Driven: Whatever your learning style or situation, we want to work with you and see you achieve your goals and find your pathway to success!
3. Texas Law Compliant: Texas state law requires that schools must offer a program with the minimum amount of 500 hours. We work incredibly hard to ensure students are treated fairly and with the utmost respect.
4. Simple Internship Program: All internship massages take place in a safe, comfortable, and private setting. After students complete 250 classroom hours, they may begin their internship.
5. Valuing Your Time: We don't believe in making you wait around all day for massages or forcing you to complete a minimum number of massages in one day. We value your time and want to see you succeed.
6. Non-Accredited by Choice: We've chosen not to pursue accreditation so that we can teach the newest techniques available, providing our students with a fuller and more well-rounded education.
7. 20+ Years of Experience: The North Texas School of Swedish Massage opened in 1994 and continues to enjoy serving the community and massage therapy industry with integrity.
