Our Story

Healing Touch Spa was founded in 1987 by Mary Jo Majerus, a passionate advocate for legitimate massage therapy. With a lifelong dedication to sharing the healing properties of Therapeutic Massage, Mary Jo's entrepreneurial journey began in a barn on the outskirts of Philadelphia. After moving to Rochester in 1986, Mary Jo overcame numerous challenges, including a period of poverty and struggling to care for her two young daughters.

Determined to make a name for herself in the industry, Mary Jo championed legitimate massage services and worked tirelessly to change the negative stigma surrounding the profession. Her hard work paid off, and she eventually opened her own spa in downtown Rochester.
